Your mind, body, and soul are separate yet so intricately linked in the way they impact one another. Right now I am going through so many changes and it feels like my head is about to explode half the time with the amount of knowledge I consume and with the realizations I make about myself each day.
I am thankful that I have been blessed to know God. To learn myself. To make mistakes that gave me the wisdom that pays me!
The thing about overall health/wellness is that it cannot be truly achieved until you are living in your truth. You may be physically healthy, but have racing thoughts. You may look great on the outside with your sugar scrubs and cocoa butter for the skin, but on the inside you’re ripped to shreds because you can’t be you.
You’re hiding from yourself. Self-confidence is wellness. Self-reliance is wellness.
Self-acceptance — is — wellness!!! You have to love yourself completely and totally. You have to fall in love with the process. Fall in love with those moments that build character. It’s just a season. It’s a phase and it may hurt or be extremely uncomfortable but without it you wouldn’t be prepared for what God has next for you. You wouldn’t be able to appreciate it. You would mishandle the gift. You would misuse the blessings. See, sometimes we think we can HANDLE something just because we WANT it. I’m here to tell you that with the things we want in life, desire is not enough to maintain them! We need those character-building moments to help us grow, adapt, and accept what’s going on around us.
Have you ever heard of the serenity prayer?
It goes like this….
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can’t change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”.
This is the prayer I recite to myself often when I am facing a difficult decision or going through a time where I just have to WAIT and trust God. For those of you confused about how I developed my level of patience or ability to “remain calm”,; prayer is how you get it!!! You will be tested but you will gain the skills you need to become the woman you would like to become. I love you ladies.
Trust yourself, and remember to keep God 1st.
